Winfred Hicks

Graveside services for Winfred "Fred" Hicks are scheduled for Friday, October 8, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Wylie Cemetery in Wylie, Texas with Cruz Medina officiating. No formal visitation is scheduled.

Winfred Lee Hicks was born in Gilmer, Texas on June 10, 1927, the son of Henry Lee Hicks and Oma Knight Hicks. He married Annie Lucille Hicks. She preceded him in death. Mr. Hicks was retired from Dearborne Heaters, worked for Plano ISD, was a groundskeeper for various employers and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Hicks passed away Monday October 4, 2010 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.


Survivors include daughters, Judy Morris, of Point, Carolyn Hicks, of Greenville; son, Charles Hicks; brothers, Bill Hicks, of Hutto, David Hicks, of Jacksboro, Joe Hicks, of Springtown; sisters, Carol Williams, of Mesquite, Edna Hale, of Westminister, Martha Bullard, of Crowley, and Jan Lawrence, of Rumsey, Kentucky; loving friend, Bobbie Luker; special friends, Sue Ann and Benny Johnson, and Tom Green.

Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one brother, Wayne Hicks.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
