Virgie Ross

Virgie Nell Nelson Ross was born to the parentage of Roy and Vera Cotton Nelson in Sulphur Springs, Texas. She attended Douglas High School. She confessed her belief in Christ at the early age of Fourteen at Morning Chapel Baptist Church under the Pastorate Rev. Houston
Virgie moved to Kansas City Missouri and started working at the Lipton Tea Company, where she met and married Mr. David Ross and to this union three children were born, David Jr., who passed away in infancy, Jerry Ross and Marquis Ross. Virgie later moved to Dallas, Texas where she worked in the Health Care system until she decided to move back to Sulphur Springs to help care for her mother and brother. She reunited with her family at the Morning Chapel Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until her health declined.
Virgie departed this life on November 27, 2014 at the Sulphur Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness. She leaves with cherished memories two sons; Jerry Ross and wife Rose of Dallas TX., and Marquis Ross and wife Angela of Dallas TX., five grandchildren; Jerry Ross Jr., Joshua Ross, Jameson Ross, LaQuis Ross, and Camry Ross and seven great-grandchildren, one brother, Charles Nelson and wife Ina of Dallas TX. and one sister, Wanda Nelson Young of Kansas City MO., and a devoted nephew Brusker Fannin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband David Ross, a son David Ross Jr., a grandson Jonathan Ross, her parents Roy and Vera Nelson, and two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Morning Chapel Baptist Church Interment will follow at the Independent Cemetery in Sand Feild Community in Como. Visitation will be Held Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Tapp Funeral Home.
