A Graveside service for Tommie Frances Gidney, age 75, of Cooper, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Plano Mutual Cemetery in Plano, TX with Randy Sadler officiating. Eddie Brock, David Aaron, James Aaron, David Smith, Stanley Hawkins, Bryan Stephenson and Ethan Stephenson will serve as Honorary pallbearers. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Tapp Funeral Home.
Tommie Frances Gidney passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014 at her residence. She was born on March 7, 1938 to J.P. Aaron and Eva (Dudley) Aaron in Argyle. She married Claude Gidney on October 1, 1955 in McKinney; he preceded her in death in 1996. Mrs. Gidney was a seamstress at Haggard's and owned and operated several cafes. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by daughter, Charlene Brock and husband Eddie of Celeste; son, Dwayne Gidney of Cooper; grandchildren, Marla Stephenson and husband Bryan, Crystal Austin, and Nancy Austin; great-grandchildren, Rachel Stephenson, Ethan Stephenson, Emzie Austin, and Kylie Austin; sisters, Fannie Gidney, Beatrice Isaacs, Mildred Smith, Linda Taylor, Emma Hawkins, and Kathy McDonald; and brothers, James Aaron and David Aaron.
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Elizabeth Nadine Gidney; sisters, Nettie Watkins and Ruth Geneva Aaron; brothers, Joe Aaron and Burt Aaron; and son-in-law, David Austin.
