Tom Russell

Thomas Joseph Russell, Sr., age 68, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Christus Mother Francis Hospital in Sulphur Springs, Texas.

Tom Russell was born in Chicago, Illinois, on September 21, 1954. He served in the United States Army and then went on to own his own roofing company for over 40 years. Tom loved hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. He was an avid storyteller and loved talking about different adventures and happenings in the past. You knew Tom liked you if he gave you a hard time but when it came to his grandkids, he made sure they were spoiled rotten. He was also a faithful member of Richland Baptist Church.

Tom is survived by his wife, Kim (Leisey) Russell of Sulphur Springs; children, Kristina Leisey and partner Nathan, of Sulphur Springs, Thomas Russell, Jr and wife Brittany, of Sulphur Springs, Michael Russell, and wife Kristy, of Dike, and Christopher Russell of Sulphur Springs; sisters, Phyllis Eads of Monroe, Louisiana, and Gerri Ostrey of Chicago, Illinois; and grandchildren, Dillan Blevins and fiancé Kamryn, Krista (Shorty) Leisey, Kennley Russell, Athena Russell, Cambria Russell, and Clifton Russell.

Tom was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Charles and Ruby Gilmer; and mother, Windolen Gilmer Bolda.
