Funeral services for Perry Wayne Evans, age 52, of Sulphur Springs, have been set for 2:00PM, Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Sulphur Bluff High School Gymnasium with Shane Carrington officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00PM on Wednesday, October 12 at Tapp Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Garry Davison, Tarry Davison, Tim Lane, Marshall Moore, Charles Wright, Bill Hemby, Justin Goldsmith and Mark Vincent. Honorary pallbearers will be Drew Thomas, Harvey Milton, James Morton, Jerry Ptak, Chris Arledge, Terry Goldsmith and Javier Mendoza. Interment will follow at the Aiguier Cemetery.
Mr. Evans was born on December 17, 1963, the son of Robert Wayne Evans and Shirley Sue (Gibby) Evans in Sulphur Springs. He graduated from Texas A&M in Commerce with a Master's Degree. He retired as a teacher and principal from Fannindel I.S.D in 2014, but returned to work as a Special Education teacher at North Hopkins I.S.D. in 2016. Mr. Evans was a member of the North Hopkins church of Christ.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley Evans; daughter, Skylar Evans; sister, Pam Albanese and husband Doug; brother, Paul Evans and wife, Mendy; four nieces and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wayne Evans.
Donations can be made to the Special Education Program at North Hopkins or Sulphur Bluff Districts.
