June 4, 1958 — January 8, 2019

Celebration of Life for Kimberly Caruthers Gray, age 61, of Temple and formerly of Sulphur Springs will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Tapp Funeral Chapel with Lonnie Fox officiating. Private family service will follow at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery. Kimberly Caruthers Gray passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at her home in Temple, TX.

Affectionately known to some as “Kree”, “Kimbo,” and “Big Un”, Kim was born on June 4, 1958 in Dallas TX to John Caruthers and Gena Tapp Caruthers of Sulphur Springs. Kim is remembered as a very caring, compassionate, forgiving and fun-loving beauty who had a heart of gold. She loved to love people. Kim who could throw a mean softball and high kick her way down a football field. She attended Texas Tech University after graduating from SSHS in 1976 and enjoyed working in sales and entrepreneuring her own craft businesses. She sold cheer and dance uniforms for Varsity and ran Country Rose craft business in Springfield, MO. When she moved back to central Texas, she started Countryside Cottage and grew her craft business to 25 booths, with 10 of the booths housing her own craft designs.

Kim is survived by her husband Dan Gray and her three children, Shane Salisbury, Aaron Salisbury, Jillian Salisbury-Ball. She was “Nanny” to five grandkids, Ella, Reese, Natalia, Noah and Hurlee, her special blessings. She is also survived by her siblings, Johnny Caruthers and wife Gayle of Tyler, Jim Caruthers and wife Yadira of Sulphur Springs and Amy Caruthers Russo of San Antonio. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A very special thanks to all the outpouring of love from family and friends. We are so appreciative of the warm sentiments shared by so many who knew and loved Kim and we invite friends to share their special memories and stories about Kim at the Celebration of Life Service. As she would often sing, “This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24
