She was born the daughter of Jacquelyn Hamilton Brice and Randell Dean Brice in Sulphur Springs on May 29, 1959. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church and demonstrated her love for God by loving those she served. She was a youth department volunteer and a member of the chancel choir. She loved music, especially singing, and playing the piano and used her gifts in the service of God. She had a special love and compassion for animals having adopted many dogs, cats and horses over her lifetime providing them with a safe and caring home.

Karey’s career as a teacher, coach and counselor spanned almost 40 years. Her greatest joy and achievement during her working years was impacting the lives of the young men and women she loved. She loved her work and lived it with passion, believing it to be a divine calling.

Her greatest lifetime achievement, however, was loving her family and friends.
