Jimmy McCoy was born on June 24, 1940, in Winnsboro, Texas to Shellie Dalton and Sybil (Ballard) McCoy. He married Mary (Walker) McCoy on July 26, 1958, in Sulphur Springs, Texas.

Jimmy enjoyed fishing, watching westerns, playing golf, and cooking chili and Barbeque. He loved spending time with his family.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Mary (Walker) McCoy; daughter, Tina Knotts of Winnsboro, Texas; daughter-in-law, Margaret McCoy of Graham, Texas; granddaughters, Angel McCoy (Lee Tadlock) of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Haley Leach (Greg) of Winnsboro, Texas, grandsons, Joshua McCoy (Dessie) of Eliasville, Texas, Aaron Knotts (Crystal) of Pickton, Texas, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; sister, Shirley (David) Johnson of Sulphur Springs, Texas; and his beloved puppy Sugar.

Jimmy was proceeded in death by his parents, Shellie Dalton and Sybil (Ballard) McCoy, son, Ricky McCoy; and son-in-law, David Knotts.
