Jimmy D. Clifton went home to be with his lord on Sunday, February 24, 2013. Jimmy was born November 11, 1942 in Sulphur Springs, TX to Lewis Austin and Nell McClendon Clifton. He was known by many names Bubba to some family, Clim to classmates, Jimmy to public and co-workers, dad but his most cherished name was Pawpaw to all "his boys" his grandsons.

He married Carolyn Griggs on May 1, 1970 in Sulphur Springs they had two children.

Jimmy graduated from SSHS and attended college for a short time at ETSU before finding his way to employment with the H.D. Lee Company. He served in many capacities there before leaving and beginning a new career in car sales which he grew to love and which grew to love him. Many years of sales brought many repeat customers that would only buy a Dodge from Jimmy. He achieved many goals in the business and was known for his honesty and reliability.

After leaving the car business he spent several years enjoying in his cows and the country but various health issues changed this direction also. During this time he was blessed with his grandsons and he spent hours with them. They all enjoyed fishing and many good memories were created.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years Carolyn; their children Carmen Crouse, and husband, Tony, and their boys Brady Austin and Dakota of Sulphur Springs; Craig Clifton, and wife, Amy, and their boys Tyler, Jaxon, Chappel of Double Oak; and Tammy Powdrill, and husband Bubba, and their kids Haylee Pogue and son Stratton, Kelsey and Todd Williams, and Logan Pogue.

He will be greatly missed by many but he is free from pain and torment and peaceful with his Lord.
