Funeral services for Jimmie Lou McGowan, age 87, have been set for Friday, May 10, 2019 at 2:00PM at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Potts officiating. Interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery with Tim Boney, Teddy Jennings, Brandon Price, Brad Cardwell, Halston Potts and Jace Potts serving as pallbearers. A visitation has been scheduled for 1:00 PM, Friday, May 10, 2019, one hour prior to the service.
Jimmie Lou McGowan was born on January 4, 1932, in Greenview, TX, the daughter of Jim Potts and Irene Gilley Potts. She was married to Maloy McGowan, who preceded her in death. Ms. McGowan worked in the restaurant industry and was of the Baptist faith. Jimmie Lou McGowan passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Sunny Springs Health and Rehab.
Survivors include: son: Cary Deon McGowan; Brother: Tommy Potts and wife, Sue of Greenview; sisters: Frankie Lavon Millsap and Emmie Boney of Sulphur Springs, Dora Smith of Cumby, Margaret Sue Jennings of Dallas and Gail Garmon and husband, Woody of Miller Grove; grandchild: Kathy McGowan; great grandchildren: Triston, Tyler, Christian, Catin, Blair and Luke.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Irene Potts; sister: Lula Francis Nelson; son: Eric McGowan.
