James Edwards

A Memorial Service for Gil Edwards, Jr., age 70, of Yantis, will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 2014, at the Yantis Community Center (located on City Circle, behind the Yantis Volunteer Fire Department).
Mr. Edwards passed away Monday, October 27, 2014, at the VA Hospital in Dallas. He was born on June 24, 1944, to James Gilmer Edwards, Sr. and Lotus Evelyn Fenner in Port Arthur, TX. Mr. Edwards served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a master mechanic and entrepreneur.
Survivors include: daughter, Patricia Gail Yates and husband David of Richardson; granddaughter Sabrina Yates; and sisters, Barbara Berendzen of Dallas, and Charlotte Melton of Flower Mound.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Paula Whalen.
