George Greenway Jr

Funeral services for George Walter Greenway Jr., age 91, of Sulphur Springs have been set for Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Sam Mercer III officiating. Interment will follow AT I.O.O.F. Cemetery with George Walter Greenway IV, George Walter Greenway V, Derek Nordaune, Sam Mercer IV, Danny Mercer and Richard Francis serving as pallbearers. Visitation has been scheduled for Friday July 7, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Tapp Funeral Home.
George Walter Greenway Jr. was born on January 21, 1926 in Ladonia, TX, the son of George Walter Greenway Sr and Beulah Vicey Pirtle Greenway. He married Dora Armstrong Sanders in Sulphur Springs in June of 2014. Mr. Greenway retired from the U.S. Air Force and was retired from the Civil Service as a teacher. He was a Protestant.
Survivors include wife, Dora Greenway; son, George Walter Greenway III and wife, Audrey; step-sons, Sam Mercer III and wife Christy, Robert Mercer and wife Louise, John Anderson and wife Nan and Tommy Sanders and wife Barbara; step-daughter, Aaronetta Martin and husband John; grandson, George Walter Greenway IV; granddaughter, Genevieva G. Nordaune; step-sister, Wanda Brice.
Mr. Greenway was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dr. Fran Greenway and Delores Monacro; brother, James Greenway.
