Clyde Hathcoat

Funeral services for Clyde Hathcoat, age 85, of Sulphur Springs have been scheduled for Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 10:00AM at Tapp Funeral Home with Bro. Chad Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow in Connor Cemetery with David Hall, Chris Shotwell, Justin Hall, Rick Hall, Mike Skelton, Rob Sams, Jr., and Daniel Hathcoat serving as pallbearers. A visitation will be held Tuesday evening at Tapp Funeral Home from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.


Clyde Sweeden Hathcoat was born March 6, 1926 in Flora, Texas, the son of Hillman MacHouston Hathcoat and Anna Vest. He married Ruby E. Jones in Sulphur Springs on April 24, 1948. She preceded him in death on September 18, 2011. Mr. Hathcoat was a welder and a farmer. He served in the Marine Corp during World War II.


Survivors include son, Jerry Hathcoat, and wife, Rebecca, of Sulphur Springs; daughter, Linda Sams, and husband, Bob, of Kissimmee, FL; sister-in-law, Frances Skelton, and husband, Jimmy; brother-in-law, Kenneth Hall; grandchildren, Rob Sams, Jr., Stephanie Guthrie, Phillip Sams, Daniel Hathcoat, Anna Calavan; five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers and seven sisters.
