Brenda Sue Payne

Visitation for Brenda Sue Payne, age 83, will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 2:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. at Tapp Funeral Home.  Brenda passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Carriage House Manor in Sulphur Springs, Texas. 

Brenda Payne was born on March 16, 1943, in Lakewood, Ohio to William Clyde and Susan (Harrison) Palmer. She married Edgar Lee Payne in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 25, 1993. Brenda had a deep love of gardening and was proud to be a Master Gardener. She also enjoyed being involved in Community Theater, where she was able to share her creativity and love of the arts with others. She had a special talent for making things from the heart. Brenda loved making homemade wine and jelly and was an exceptional cook. Her homemade creations were enjoyed by her friends and family.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Edgar Lee Payne; sons, Dana Hooser (Tess), David Hooser (Mary), Darin Hooser (JudyLynn), Edgar Lee Payne Jr. (Louisa), John Richard Payne, David Allen Payne (Jona); grandchildren, Dallas Minor, Alicia Ramkey (Mike), Anthony Hooser (Ashley), Bryan Baker (Allison), Allyson Baker, James Hooser (Rebecca), Aaron Hooser (Rachel), David Hooser, Kevin Payne, Thomas Payne, Michael Payne, Lisa Payne; great grandchildren, Juniper Ramkey, Michael Ramkey, Parker Hooser, Hudson Hooser, Donavan Young, Conner Payne, Tilian Payne; brother, William Palmer (Maloa); sister, Mary Jane Hanover.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, William Clyde and Susan (Harrison) Palmer; daughter, Diana Baker; brother-in-law, Samuel Payne; sister-in-law, Martha Lou and sister-in-law, Wilma Thompson.
