Bobby Mathews

A Graveside Service for Bobby Mathews, age 67, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery (North) with Sister Ann Wagner officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Tapp Funeral Home.
Bobby Mathews passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 at the Baylor Hamilton Heart Hospital in Dallas. He was born on February 11, 1946 to Odell Matthews, Sr. and June (Barrett) Matthews in Sulphur Springs. He married Vickie Grubbs on October 29, 1965 in Sulphur Springs; she survives. Mr. Mathews was of the Baptist faith and a member of the National Guard. He worked at Foxworth-Galbraith for 44 years.
Other survivors include: sons, Michael Mathews and wife, Teresa, Kevin Mathews and wife, Christina, and Nathan Mathews and wife, Sonya, all of Sulphur Springs; daughter, Kim Jones of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Karlee, Kason, Justin, Jessica, Riley, and Addison Mathews, Kara Lopez, and Garrett and Cameron Jones; great-grandson, Kaidyn Holt; brothers, Odell Matthews, Jr., Charlie Matthews and Gary Matthews; and sister, Sandra Edwards.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Matthews; and infant daughter, Nancy Mathews.
