Funeral Service for Billy Ray Whitson, age 60 of Sulphur Springs will be 2:00 pm, Monday, February 3, 2014 at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be one hr before the service at the Tapp Funeral Home.
Billy Ray Whitson passed away on Friday, January 31, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Red River County, TX on August 22, 1953 the son of James and Lou Ginn Whitson. He married Bessie Mae Steen in Sulphur Springs on July 2, 1999. She survives. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: wife, Bessie Mae Whitson of Sulphur Springs; sons, Tyson Wright of Bogota, Chester Wright of AR, Corkey Wright of AR, Leasel "Bubba" Fields of Sulphur Springs; daughters, Tonya Wright of GA, Crystal Wright of GA, and Donna Fields of Marlin; brother, Jimmy Whitson of Sulphur Springs; twenty-two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Tommy Ginn, James Whitson, and Billy Gene Whitson.
