Argie Hall

Funeral services for Argie B. Hall, of Sulphur Springs, age 92, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday June 29, 2010 at Evening Chapel CME Church with Rev. Barris Sims officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Luke cemetery with Weldon Wright, Terry Wright, Edward Walker, Johnny Cash, Henry Turner and Jerry Kimble serving as pallbearers. Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.

No formal visitation or wake will be held.

Argie Bill Hall was born January 10, 1918 in Hopkins County, the son of Simmie and Mattie Nash Hall.

He married Ora Lee Wright in East Caney July 18, 1943. She preceded him in death November 2, 2000. Mr. Hall was a long time employee of Rockwell Valve Company and Grocery Supply. Mr. Hall served in the U.S. Army during World War II. In honor of his service the Hopkins county Military Coalition will conduct military graveside burial rites. He was a menber and steward of Pairie Hill C.M.E. Church.

Argie Bill Hall passed away Saturday June 26, 2010, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.

Surviving family includes three daughters, Vera Sims and husband Barris of Sulphur Springs, Merdell Bello and husband Douglas of Arlington, Texas and Linda Hall of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his parents, son, L.A. Hall; daughter, Lois Jean Hall Chisom; brothers, Arthur Hall, Lenard Hall and Warren Hall, six sisters; Viola Hall Ury, Lavern Hall McClure, Gladys Hall Shiver, Simmie Hall and Vida Hall and Maxine Hall.

Tapp Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
