Albert Chambers

September 1, 1926 — January 21, 2010

Graveside funeral services for Albert Dink Chambers, age 83, of Hallsville, Texas, formerly of Hopkins County, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the Sulphur Bluff Cemetery with Bro. Tommy Hall officiating.

No formal visitation will be held.

Mr. Chambers passed away at his residence, Thursday, January 21, 2010 in Longview. Albert Chambers was born September 1, 1926 in Dike, Texas, the son of Elmer Dink Chambers and Russie Lee Jackson Chambers. He married Mary Ellen Kinnamon in Texarkana, Arkansas February 2, 1952, she survives.

Mr. Chambers was owner operator of Albert's Truck Tire Service in Longview, Texas. Mr. Chambers served in the U. S. Marines during WWII. In honor of his service the Hopkins County Military Coalition will conduct military graveside burial rites. He was of the Protestant faith.

Surviving family includes his sons, Jimmy Yelverton and wife Jeannie of Diana, TX and Johnnie Chambers and wife Luwilda of Hallsville, TX, daughters; Shirley McCamis and Delois Crawford both Hallsville, TX, nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren and a host of friends. A special "Thank You" to Hearts Way Hospice for the professional and loving care provided by their caregivers.

Mr. Chambers was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Al Chambers and sister, Ines George.
